It Happened One Summer Night

At approximately 7:30pm on a hot and humid July evening, fire broke out in a multi-tenant office building's electrical room.  To protect the safety of fire fighters, the fire burned unabated as electrical diagrams were compared to generator specifications.  Once the fire was extinguished, it was six weeks before the building was restored to "business as usual".

One company, while working under their business continuity plan survived with little impact on their clients, despite a variety of calamities the occurred at both the primary and backup facilities.  Generator failures.  Computer crashes.  Water pipes bursting.  Power outages.  Some occurred because of the fire, others occurred due to "normal" risks.

This seminar addresses the need for contingencies for contingencies, the power of good testing, and a variety of lessons learned from this actual event.
