Community Living in a Pandemic Society

The H1N1 Pandemic of 2009 may not be as deadly as originally feared, but it does provide us with a glimpse of what will happen when "the big one" does hit.

  • Schools will close forcing parents to stay home and care for their children
  • The health care system will be overwhelmed
  • Medications and health care supplies will be unavailable
  • Effective vaccines may be months away (if at all)

Our community needs people to care for people - people who cannot care for themselves. Widespread disease threatens people, putting your entire business at risk.

This seminar will address the people side of a pandemic. You already have infection control measures in place, so the focus will be on:

  • Supply Chain / Day Program disruptions
  • Work at home strategies
  • Security in a desperate society
Based on the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic, this interactive seminar will follow an almost worst case scenario of a pandemic in the 21st century. It will focus on impacts to our community, including: consumer care, staff considerations, and billing implications.
